Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Sold-Out Annual Awards: A Night of Fun, Community, and Recognition

The Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its highly anticipated 2024 Annual Awards: Drafting Excellence event on September 17th, drawing a sold-out crowd of 170 guests. Held at the Historic Cox Building, the event was an evening filled with fun, celebration, and recognition of the outstanding businesses, organizations, and individuals who have made a significant impact on the Maysville and Mason County community.

The NFL Draft-themed event encouraged attendees to show off their team spirit by donning their favorite sports attire, bringing an added element of excitement and camaraderie to the celebration. Guests enjoyed a lively tailgate party during check-in, followed by a delicious dinner courtesy of deSha’s, the thrilling Dessert Dash, and the presentation of the prestigious annual awards.

“We are beyond thrilled with the success of this year’s event,” said Kaci Foster, Executive Director of the Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce. “It was incredible to see so many community members and business leaders come together for a night of celebration. The sold-out crowd and the energy in the room made this year’s Annual Awards truly special.”

The event featured the presentation of the Chamber’s annual awards, recognizing excellence across several categories:

Small Business of the Year: Cafe Cream & MyLo’s
Large Business of the Year: STOBER Drives
New Business of the Year: The Purple Llama
Non-Profit of the Year: Maysville Hands of Hope
Chamber Champion: Danny Weddle
Educator of the Year: LaTressa “Tressie” Graham
Citizen of the Year: Commissioner Joe McKay
A highlight of the evening was the heartfelt recognition of Joe McKay as Citizen of the Year, celebrating his decades of service as an educator, coach, county commissioner, and volunteer. McKay’s contributions to the community have left a lasting legacy, and his award was met with resounding applause from the guests.

The Chamber also expressed its gratitude to all the table sponsors, dessert donors, and everyone who helped make the night a success.

“We couldn’t have done this without the tremendous support of our community and local businesses,” Kaci added. “It’s events like these that remind us how strong and engaged our Maysville and Mason County business community truly is. We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration.”
