2021 Excellence Awards



The Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce offers six award categories to recognize businesses and individuals who have made a difference in our community over the last year. Nominations will be submitted electronically and voted on by the Chamber Membership. Nominees will be notified and recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 18. When nominating, please consider the qualifications listed below.

Small Business of the Year

Nominees should include those businesses with fewer than 20 employees who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, business acumen, and professionalism in our community.

Criteria includes:

  • Demonstrated success in areas including employment, sales, and innovation
  • Dedication to quality, customers service, and commitment to employees
  • Evidence of contribution to the community and community-oriented projects
  • Evidence of support of the Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce

Large Business of the Year

Nominees should include those businesses with more than 20 employees who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, business acumen, and professionalism in our community.

Criteria includes:

  • Demonstrated success in areas including employment, sales, and innovation
  • Dedication to quality, customers service, and commitment to employees
  • Evidence of contribution to the community and community-oriented projects
  • Evidence of support of the Maysville Area Chamber of Commerce

New Business of the Year

This award recognizes a local business that has been in business for more than one, but fewer than five years, which is financially sustainable and potentially scalable.

Criteria includes:

  • Chamber Members in good standing for more than 1 year
  • Time and service contributed must be within the current year
  • Show commitment to social responsibility and exemplify strong community involvement

Non-Profit of the Year

To be eligible for this award, the organization must be recognized as tax-exempt and designated as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

Nominees should distinguish itself through excellence in pursuit of its mission while meeting a defined public need, providing outstanding service to its constituents and the community, and demonstrate good stewardship of donor dollars and sound business practices.

Chamber Champion

This award is presented to a Chamber Member or volunteer who has proactively demonstrated extraordinary enthusiasm for our organization through volunteerism and participation in Chamber activities and/or committees. This nominee shall also have acted as a notably positive “ambassador” for our Chamber through interactions with the public and other members.

Citizen of the Year

Nominees for this award have made significant contributions to our community through their work and/or volunteer efforts. He or she has demonstrated his/her commitment to our area through definable, exceptional efforts and serves as a role model. Their actions have contributed to a better business environment and quality of life for Maysville-Mason County residents.
